Does it matter which one you use. I have been using Similac for four months now. I’m also breastfeeding but my supply of milk is running out and all the free milks I got from my shower is all gone too. I just bought a can from Wal Mart (Similac) it cost me $30.00 just for one can that will only last about two weeks.
I saw some cheap ones, Parent’s Choice… which is half the price. Is there any differences between the generic brand and name brand. Please help. I want the very best for my baby. I also use organic formula.
I can’t breastfeed on demand because I am working a full time job. I can only pump at certain times and because my job doesn’t have a sanitary room for me to pump, so I go to my friend’s house who lives near my job to pump during my lunch break.
Your supply is running out because you’re offering your baby formula. Everytime you offer your baby a bottle of formula you’re sending a cue to your body that you don’t need more milk. Breastmilk is created by supply and demand. If you want to make more, you need to offer your breast to your baby as often as possible. That will cue your body to make more milk.
That said, formula is regulated by the FDA, so its all good. You just need to find the one that agrees with your baby. But if you’re worried about cost, I’d work on increasing your supply by nursing more and possibly taking a fenugreek supplement.
my baby’s 10 mths old and her skin, especially her legs get really dry. i’ve used aveeno, burts bees and avalon organics but after a few hrs of crawling around they get dry again… all the way down to her toes! i really can’t stand dry skin and would love something that could help.
ok, i wouldn’t use johnson’s so don’t recommend it… and vaseline? are you kidding me? come on… someone pls recommend something to help me!
The only cream I find that works is the gerber grins and giggles milk and honey lotion…and it smells amazing too!
I had tried the aveeno,Johnston’s night time and the sensitive and the naturals, and the dove baby lotion and none of them were able to get rid of her red cheeks and her eczema on her body till I discovered this one!
I think it’s because it’s a really thick lotion or maybe I just love the smell so much that i just lather on so much lol

My Sil has a 2 day old baby girl that she’s bottle feeding. She’s using Earth’s best organic formula and anti-colic bottles (i’m not sure of the brand). Her baby cries a lot during bottle feeds and seems to burp a lot during and after her feeds but she doesn’t spit up much. Is this normal? Do “anti-colic” bottles really prevnt colic and wind in babies? Also, I’d like to buy her some more bottles and I’m giving her nappies and baby clothes. Can someone recommend some good bisphenol free bottles? I live in Australia.
This little baby could have “silent reflux” which is characterized by excessive crying, bringing knees up to abdomen and chest. Inconsolable for hours on end no matter how much baby is held. The main problem with Silent reflux is that you need to have a pediatrician diagnose it. It isn’t safe to start giving babies treatments for problems unless a Doctor tells you so.
Breast fed babies still get colic as often as bottle fed ones. Air gets swallowed when baby is very upset and can cause tummy pain. And I know my breast fed son can choke and then swallows air that way. The only thing that differs about breast feeding is that when a bottle is finished baby has to stop feeding. With breast feeding baby can nurse as long as they feel like it, no air comes out of a boob, lol. I think some bottles are better than others, I used Avent ones when I bottle fed my daughter and weaned my son.
If Bubs is still having trouble with tummy pains, it could be the formula, but bare in mind, this is a two day old baby, her digestive system didn’t work like this 2 days ago, she was being fed via umbilical cord. Babies can take a while to adjust to the feeding method and also life outside the womb in general.
