Getting Pregnant With a Girl Baby: The Best Tips To Make It Happen

Getting pregnant requires a bit of planning, precise timing, and a tiny bit of luck.  These are the same things that are necessary to get pregnant with a baby girl.  So, while you’re doing these things anyway to get pregnant, why not just tweak things a little bit so that you can get the baby girl or daughter that you want out of the process?  Because it’s not at all hard if you have the correct tools.  This article will tell you not only what you have to do to get pregnant, but will also outline the few extra things that you can do to ensure that the baby is a girl.

The Basics Of Getting Pregnant With A Girl Baby:  You may already know many of these things, but please bear with me.  If you’re wanting to get pregnant as quickly as possible, you should find the window in your fertility cycle where you are the most likely to conceive and then have intercourse on those days.  Doing this will absolutely work (and often quickly), but it leaves the sex or gender of your baby to chance.

But, there are days in this cycle that will favor a baby girl or a baby boy.  Briefly, here’s why.  The sperm that produces a daughter is extremely strong and can live for days in the reproductive tract.  But, the opposite is true for boy sperm.  It is much weaker, although it is also fast.

So, conceiving early in this fertility window will favor having a girl because it encourages the weak boy sperm to deteriorate before ovulation and conception. Specifically, for a female baby, you should conceive 3 – 4 days before you ovulate.  But, how do you know exactly when this is?

There are several methods, although I find some old fashioned.  I don’t recommend the basal temperature, cervical mucus or calendar methods because in my experience, they leave too much room for miscalculation.  I was not getting any real results using these methods and went six months without getting pregnant.

A coworker bought me a saliva ovulation predictor kit, which allowed me to see a fool proof yes or no, and I was stunned to see that I was ovulating well after the fourteenth day of my cycle (on day twenty to be exact). So for me, to get a girl, I’d need to have intercourse on day 16 or 17 – not on day 14 as is commonly thought.  Using this information, I was finally pregnant within two months.

Other Things That Are Important In Getting Pregnant With A Girl Baby:  Correctly timing your conception is very important in this girl baby conception plan, but it’s only one of a few variables. There are two other things you will need to, and can, address.

The first, intercourse positioning, is quite easy.  To conceive a girl, use shallow penetration because this places the sperm far away from the egg.  The boy sperm will weaken and die off as they struggle to make this trip.

The second thing, altering your PH and acidity, is a little more challenging, but it’s not that hard.  The reason that you’ll likely need to make some changes to your PH is that boy sperm can not handle an acidic or hostile PH.  So, remember that trip to the egg that we just discussed and wanted to make extra long? Well, we want to make it extra hostile as well (as bad as this sounds.)  To do this, your vaginal acidity needs to be sky high.

How hard this will be or how long it will take is going to depend upon how acidic you already are.  Test this using PH testers that you can pick up at health food or nutrition stores or on line.  If you are not acidic as you need to be, or even if you are testing alkaline, don’t panic, you can change this – either through foods, or specialty douches, or both.  You will need to consume a high PH diet and douche with solutions meant to bring your PH higher.  Again, there are resources that can make this easier for you.

Getting pregnant with a girl is not as hard as you think.  It’s really just a three step process.  Time it right.  Send the sperm to the egg correctly, and then make the path to the egg as unfriendly and hostile to the boy sperm as is possible.

Preparing A Layette For Your New Baby

By Roy Thomsitt

First of all, in case you do not know, what is a layette? Well, the definition of layette is quite simple: a kit consisting of a complete outfit (clothing and accessories) for a new baby.

Whether your new baby is going to be your first or fifth, taking that baby back home from hospital requires a lot of preparation. It is far better to have the essentials ready to make for a smooth return home with your new arrival. The last thing you will want to do in those first few days after the baby arrives is to run around buying any little necessities that you forgot. You will undoubtedly feel much more at easy, and able to concentrate on the baby, if you have everything prepared well in advance.

If you can get everything you need for the layette, whether bought new or second hand, or even borrowed, then you can feel relaxed about being able to deal with the initial practicalities of taking the baby home.

While it is nice to have everything brand new for your baby, it is worth thinking long and hard about whether that is at all necessary, or even desirable. One thing is certain, babies get to be very expensive, and they grow into even more expensive children and teenagers later on. Unless you are financially super secure long into the future, you may appreciate in the long run saving as much as you can in the early days.

Baby clothes especially are very expensive new, when you consider their tiny size. Whatever item you buy, your baby will soon out grow it, so new does not necessarily mean good value. Quite the opposite, in fact.

Remember, you are buying things for your baby, and your baby cares not one iota if the clothes you adorn them with are new, second hand or fourth hand. The baby will grow quickly, and the clothes may get soiled quickly if you are unlicky. All the baby needs is your love and care, plus comfort for sleeping and resting. It is all about security and love in the early stages. Your baby is not a fashion model.

Of course, you want the baby to look nice in what they wear, and they will pretty soon become conscious of their clothes. But if you are buying on a budget, there are plenty of low cost sources for all baby’s needs. And they can look just as cute in second hand clothes as something brand new.

In practice, most people will go for a mix of new, quality seconds, and second hand clothes for their baby. You will, for sure, know the prices of the new clothes in the local stores. If you buy some second hand, the savings will soon mount up. To give yourself an incentive, why not set aside those savings into a bank account for the baby? You’ll appreciate that later on, and so will the baby when they see the little nest egg growing as they get older.

Here are a few tips about buying for your baby layette:

Shopping For Your Layette In Quality Seconds Stores

As with adult clothing, baby clothes manufacturers sometimes have manufacturing errors. Usually, the missed stitch or not-quite-perfect seam is not anything that will affect wear, especially in the short time the clothing item will fit your baby. You could save as much as 70% off department store prices if you buy baby layette items at your local discount and seconds stores. Your new baby won’t know, nor will she care.

Buy Layette Items In Charity Or Other Second Hand Stores

Newborn baby layette items are nearly always hardly used. Most babies just do not wear them long enough to do much damage. A visit to local charity stores, such as a Salvation Army thrift store, may enable you to buy a whole load of layette items that still look good, all for a few dollars.

Buy New Born Baby Clothes A Size Up

Many newborn babies hardly spend a month in the 0-3 month sizes. What you can do is save the smallest size for special occasions, as a good fit obviously looks smarter. Such occasions could be coming home from the hospital, the first visit to or from grandparents etc. Otherwise jump right to the 3-6 month size for any fitted clothing. For the same reason, stick to comfortable, stretchy cotton and terry knit materials for one piece sleepers. They should fit your baby fit much longer.

Easy Access Night Gowns

Drawstring bottom night gowns are just about the most convenient single item for your new baby at home. When baby needs her diaper changing, you can just pull up, change her, and then pull back down again. Do not be distracted by the reference to “night”; when your baby comes home, whether it’s dark or light outside, it will always be night as far as she’s concerned. She will be sleeping, lying their waking up, or falling asleep, just about 24 hours a day. The distractions will be for feeding and changing. In the middle of the real night, you will appreciate being able to change her with ease, rather than fiddling, in your half asleep state, with lots of poppers, zips and layers of clothing.

Multi Purpose Cotton Diapers

If you decide to use disposable diapers, do not rule out the purchase of some 100% cotton diapers as well, even if it’s only one pack. They really are great to have around when you have a new baby, and even when baby becomes a young child. They are very useful as burp rags, laid over your shoulder or lap, as you burp the baby. But you will also find yourself using them for other things, such as wiping away dribbles, or worse. Rarely, a baby will even adopt one for comfort to suck at night. However, I am sure my 24 year old son would not want me to go further into that matter!

Wash Fabric Layette Items Before Baby Is Born

It is worthwhile using a very mild laundry soap, such as Dreft or Ivory Snow, to wash away any remnants of dyes, chemicals or starches. Babies have notoriously delicate skin, and allergic reaction can be a real problem. Bleaching used items is fine, but you must give a thorough rinsing before baby comes into contact. That’s it! I’m sure you’ll think of other things too, but that’s just a few ideas for your baby layette as the big day nears.

How to Get Rid of Baby Acne

By Gracie Roloff

Acne is a very common skin problem not just for teenager but also for newborn babies. Actually, almost 20 percent of infants can have acne. Acne neonatum is the scientific term for baby acne and it usually occurs on baby like a pimple with small, reddish bump. It may also look like whitehead forming on your baby’s face. You may also want to check the neck or the back the back of the baby because neonatal acne can also develop in those areas. Sometimes, it may look very disturbing for parents and may cause them to panic, especially for first time parents. However, they should not worry because this condition is just a result of changes in their baby’s hormones, and baby acne can go away after a few weeks. However, if the rashes seem scaly, you might want to seek the advice of your baby’s pediatrician first because it might be eczema, rather than baby acne.

How do babies get the acne? Normally, it will appear after three to four weeks after born. During the pregnancy stage, the hormones of the mother pass to the infant through the placenta. This hormone will then activate the baby’s sebaceous glands, which produces oil that will cause the forming of acne. Some medications can also cause skin irritation for babies that can also lead to the development of baby acne. The acne’s condition of the baby can get worse if it did not get any treatment after several days, and then had contact with saliva or milk. Another reason why the baby skin gets irritated is the blood flow increase on their skin. This may happen when baby cries so much.

If you detected that, your baby has acne condition, do not immediately grab special creams, lotions, or acne products designed for adults and teenagers and apply it to them. This will not help your baby’s acne be treated. As stated, it will go away. The only thing you have to take care of is to reduce the irritation and the itching that the babies may feel because this might aggravate his or her skin condition.

First thing you have to do if your baby acquires baby acne is to wash his face very gently with water and baby soap. Be sure to clean your baby’s face at least two times every day. This may help to make sure that lesser germs or bacteria to get in contact with your baby that can worsen the acne. Do not clean your baby’s face with a towel washed with detergent soaps having strong content. This may also irritate your baby’s skin. Apply a moisturizer to your baby regularly. This may reduce the itching that your baby can feel. It is also important that you put on babies clothes made of cotton, and not synthetic materials. With this, you may avoid the possibility of the baby skin to get more irritated.

It is simple to get rid of baby’s acne. First, do not panic. Then, follow the proper ways to get rid of them and in no time, your baby’s acne will start to go away on its own.
